Established in 2007, Discovery Studios is the full-service production house within Discovery Communications that creates, develops and produces high-quality, innovative original series, specials and short-form content across multiple genres – from science and natural history, to reality and lifestyle – averaging more than 150 program hours a year.
Highlighted by a 2014 Emmy-nominated series, Alaska: The Last Frontier, currently filming season four for Discovery Channel, notable series and specials include Hoarding: Buried Alive on TLC; Alien Sharks and Lair of the Mega Shark on Discovery Channel's Shark Week; Capturing Oswald, a powerful documentary on the American Heroes Channel (AHC); Blackboard Wars on OWN; and City Girl Diaries on Style. Discovery Studios is also home to all ten seasons of Animal Planet’s legacy franchise, Puppy Bowl.
With offices in LA, NY, London, and Silver Spring, MD, Discovery Studios is one of the largest producers of on-air content across all of Discovery Communications' domestic and international networks. It continues to build upon its capabilities and, in 2014, produced Texas Trocas, the first-ever fully Spanish Language production for Discovery En Español.
